The reason why the courts mandate the taking of these classes to persons going through a divorce is to try to give soon to be divorced parents the tools they will need to co-parent children in a healthy way. Do the classes have any positive effect on divorcing couples? Well, they don’t hurt. I think some divorces are so nasty that the parties will never see eye to eye or put the children first. I do think that if a person going through a divorce watches this video, it may make the person stop and think about the effect the divorce process is having on the children. There are some issues in divorce cases that just have to be fought out. It is important to identify those deal-breaker issues when working on a divorce case. There are other issues in a divorce case that are so trivial and not worth fighting and hurting over. In every divorce, there are hurt feelings and strong emotions. These required parenting courses are one way the courts are trying to ease the pain of divorce on children. I am interested people’s thoughts who have been divorced and took one of these required divorced parenting classes.
